  • Now through Monday, December 31, 2018: JMLBA Membership Survey

We'd like to hear from our members to ensure we're still delivering the types of services and programs that you need and want.  We also want to see what type of communication you prefer and if you'd be interested in a cross-pollination mentoring program with other diverse attorneys.  Please take the survey here before the end of 2018.  The survey will take about 7 minutes.

  • January 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, or 31, 2019: JMLBA Speaks to 8th Graders with Big Brothers Big Sisters

Volunteers are only needed for one time slot and will speak to eighth grade students about what it’s like to be an attorney. Students typically enjoy hearing about the exciting stuff – celebrity representation, high profile cases, etc.  However, students are also interested in learning about how many different areas of law an attorney can practice. Students find it enlightening to learn that not all lawyers make the same amount of money nor have the same background. Volunteers are encouraged to speak openly about their journey to law school and through their career, the most exciting things about being a lawyer, and also some of the challenges.  We also let them know about the Law & Leadership Academy.  There are usually 2-10 students with their mentors and the BBBS coordinator.  If you have questions, please contact India Scarver, JMLBA Community Service Chair.  Signup here to volunteer

The YWCA Family Center provides emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families in central Ohio. A national model, our goal is to help families find housing within 3 weeks of entering the program.  If you'd like to get an idea of how the evening will flow, view the complete meal host guidelines here.  Signup here to volunteer
